Kicking it all off on 5\/24\/14\u00a0GLBT Services Network Summer Kickoff <\/a>– \u00a0A newcomer to the Hamtons, “The Network” \u00a0offers a community center that\u00a0serves as a safe place with counseling and\u00a0various services for members of the community and most\u00a0importantly of all, at risk youth. \u00a0 \u00a0The\u00a0kickoff event will start at 2pm and is hosted at the Southampton home of Edie Windsor who you may or may not know\u00a0was the driving force for the fall of the DOMA. \u00a0 Tickets are reasonably priced at $75 now, $125 at the door. \u00a0The best reason to go:\u00a0 It’s early in the day plus you get\u00a0your chance to potentially meet the woman who could be considered the Rosa Parks of this generation. \u00a0 Potential reason to skip it: \u00a0Probably not the best benefit for single women looking to meet the man of their dreams. \u00a0The\u00a0<\/a>Miracle House Summer Kickoff<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0Miracle House is a non-profit extended stay facility that provides housing, counseling and support for those seeking treatment in NYC and need assistance. \u00a0 The location is the Bridgehampton Surf an Tennis Club.. and this is a huge event.\u00a0 While it started as an AIDS charity and therefore has a strong guy following, \u00a0it benefits everyone from young to old with any illness. \u00a0Tickets start at $300 and go up!\u00a0\u00a0The best reason to go:\u00a0Great atmosphere with a fun crowd and since most of the boys shame their friends that eat those puff pastries and pigs-in-the-blanket, there’s\u00a0plenty of food! \u00a0Potential Reason to skip it:\u00a0 You get shunned for eating the puff pastry! \u00a0But hey, I can live with being shunned. \u00a0Now pass that tray!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

6\/7\/14\u00a0Southampton Fresh Air Home Sale and Auction Benefit Gal<\/a>a\u00a0– Southampton FAH provides a camp experience for physically challenged youth with sailing, swimming, hiking, etc.\u00a0\u00a0 The benefit is held at their facility on Barkers Island Road in Southampton \u00a0It’s one of the more mellow benefits of the season but it’s a who’s who’s mixer for everyone in Southampton. \u00a0 Tickets once again go for $300 and up. \u00a0\u00a0The best reason to go: \u00a0The furniture in the silent auction is amazing stuff… plus it’s some of the best people watching ever! \u00a0 Yes, people really do wear bright yellow pants with lime green tops!\u00a0Potential reason to skip it:\u00a0 The best auction items here go early and these are not TJ Maxx prices but hey it’s for a great cause!<\/p>\n
