BUENOS AIRES?!&#8221;  PLUS, GOING, GOING, ALMOST GONE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor has announced the three productions planned for the 2018 Summer Season. The first will be the World Premiere of FELLOW TRAVELERS, (May 29 \u2013 June 17), a new play that examines the relationship between legendary theater artists Arthur Miller and Elia Kazan and their close relationship to Marilyn Monroe.\u00a0 The show examines how the politics of the McCarthy era affected the friendship between the two and their work.<\/p>\n<p>The second will be FROST\/NIXON (June 26 \u2013 July 22), by Peter Morgan. The third production is the musical EVITA, (July 31 \u2013 August 26) by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.\u00a0 \u00a0 I have to say,\u00a0 I love the selection and given the current political climate right now these plays couldn&#8217;t be more relevant.\u00a0 \u00a0 I think I&#8217;ve seen Evita more than any other Broadway show, Lupone, Rogers and others.\u00a0 \u00a0 One of my favorite numbers is &#8220;A New Argentina&#8221; which is the end of the first act.\u00a0 \u00a0 If you&#8217;ve only seen the movie, take a minute and watch this highlight from the 1980 Tony Awards with Patti Lupone as Eva Peron.<\/p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/F9m4SfNHWVg?version=3&#038;rel=0&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a great piece of theatre which I think was overly modulated and homogenized for the movie.\u00a0 \u00a0 So homogenized in fact I still refer to the cheesy celluloid version as &#8220;Velveeta.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4885\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4885\" style=\"width: 196px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-4885 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/hamptonschatter.net\/chatter\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/IMG_8834.jpg?resize=206%2C275\" alt=\"IMG_8834\" width=\"206\" height=\"275\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4885\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Yeah, I know the window is dirty.\u00a0 What&#8217;s your point?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Now from the don&#8217;t say I didn&#8217;t tell you department!\u00a0 \u00a0East Hampton Village Beach passes for the Summer of &#8217;18 are almost gone!\u00a0 \u00a0According to agents at village hall only about 200 of the 3100 permits still remain.\u00a0 If you can&#8217;t make it out here you can go online andtake your chances and mail in your application.\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.easthamptonvillage.org\/166\/Parking-at-Village-Beaches\">Click here<\/a> for the details.\u00a0 \u00a0 Just remember if you don&#8217;t have a pass some select beaches will be selling daily passes, so you won&#8217;t be totally out of luck.\u00a0 \u00a0But here is a better idea, you can get a bike and pedal there AND save about $40 by skipping the SoulCycle class.\u00a0 \u00a0But what fun would that be?\u00a0 Nobody will get to see how good you look in your new Lululemon outfit!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor has announced the three productions planned for the 2018 Summer Season.
