Hey, I just got a new layout… what do you think? And a SHOUT OUT to one of my competitors!

Its my stream of consciousness blog today! I went last night for dinner to 1770 House and actually sat UPSTAIRS! It was for the prix fixe of course, $29.00. It was awesome. The food is always terrific and the service was an A+! Most of my table had the Mahi Mahi with a main course of Chedder Cheese Brioche (which are free)… I ordered the Olive Twist bread as my main dish. MY POINT?! Eat upstairs at 1770 House, you’re worth it!

So after dinner, we headed across the street to see Alec Baldwin in the Guild Hall production of Equus. Anyway for those of you who don’t know the story… according to wickipedia; Equus is a play by Peter Shaffer written in 1973, telling the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological religious/sexual fascination with horses.[1]

Shaffer was inspired to write Equus when he heard of a crime involving a 17-year-old who blinded six horses in a small town near London. He set out to construct a fictional account of what might have caused the incident, without knowing any of the details of the crime. I guess I’m not really a theatre person because after an hour and a half, I had to be restrained in my seat because I wanted to blind myself and be rushed out of the show! By the way, all of my 5 friends loved the show. What do I know!?

Meanwhile, I became a father again this week. Yes, I have a new four legged child! How??? Well apparently in the South, dropping your dog off at a kill shelter after about two years seems to be no big deal. Luckily there are some people in the Hamptons who think this is as terrible as I do! My friend Cliffeton Green who is an agent at Corcoran was telling me about a dog she was fostering for LAST CHANCE ANIMAL RESCUE. We were doing a deal together and it was better than any 6% commission I ever got! NO, I’M NOT RETURNING THE MONEY FROM THE LAST DEAL.. BUT I AM MAKING A DONATION! But I digress… anyway, I ended up adopting Russell! He’s about 2 years old and a beagle mix. So Russell is now a happy member of my household and teaching my “angel” Boo about such wonderful past times as; stealing food off the counter tops, digging under the back yard fence to escape and chasing gophers in the backyard at 4 am! Anyway, when he looks at you and wags his tail, it makes it all worth it. Thanks Cliffeton, Russell is the best!! If you want to help LAST CHANCE ANIMAL RESCUE too, here’s their website http://www.lcarf.org/index.php They’re in need of volunteers to foster more dogs. I would offer to take another dog but I’m spending all of my time keeping Russell in line!

BLT comes to the Hamptons!

They’re building a better burger at the former home of Grappa and Mumbo Gumbo in Sag Harbor! Amen! Finally a FRIENDLY burger joint in town! BLT Prime and BLT Steak and BLT etc. Chef Laurent Tourondel and his new take on the “burger joint” will be a very welcome addition to Sag Harbor. Look for an opening sometime around the end of the month, according to staff working on the new restaurant!

Cutchogue is NOT in the Hamptons folks!

Sorry, yes again that I haven’t blogged in a while, but I was actually busy with guests, guests, guests and work. Thank god things are better and things are moving again on the East End, I mean real estate not my guests… they’re all lazy as hell!

So, back when I wasn’t busy my friend Denise sent me an e mail to be an extra on the TV show “Royal Pains.” You know the one on USA network?! Well actually I never saw or heard of it either. Well, the show is about a doctor that works in the Hamptons and stars Mark Feuerstein. He was the guy who was Mel Gibson’s buddy in “What Women Want.” Yeah, I don’t remember him either. He was also on some show on NBC I can’t remember and he was the star of that too. I guess I’ll have to google him and put his picture up here.

So given the opportunity of getting to collaborate in such an illustrious production as ROYAL PAINS, why didn’t I jump at the opportunity!? See the lovely e mail sent below!

Thank you so much for your submission and interest in the production of USA’s 2nd Season hit show “Royal Pains”. We will be shooting an amazing vineyard party scene that will feature Hamptons high-society. This will be shooting at The Pelegrini Vineyards www.pellegrinivineyards.com at the East End of the North Fork in the Pellegrini Estate. Their website says “Located in Cutchogue, the sunniest town in New York State, with climate and annual rainfall parallel to Bordeaux, France.” The green grounds are gorgeous which will set the tone for this upscale event where you must be in attendance! The scene will be shooting on Monday, June 7th.

(I omitteed a bunch of P.R. blabber)

As a heads up- It probably will be very early mornings and we hope that mother nature will give us beautiful weather, but as you know the way film/ television production operates is on a challenging last minute basis. We never know the exact call time until the director sets it the night before the actual shoot. That’s why we ask for you to clear your schedule for the shoot day(s) and them we confirm you with a check in # and voice mail # literally the day before you work and you have to call in that night to retrieve the call time as soon as its set by production. The same idea goes to how long the day will be. The director calls a wrap on set each day when they get the shots planned for that day. Therefore in order to be given a spot, you MUST have an open availability on the date in which we confirm.

Thank you so much for your time and participation, we look forward to your response and seeing you on set!

EARLY!?!? ALL DAY AND POSSIBLY ALL WEEK!?!?!?! Um if I’m going to give up a day or possibly a week of my time, it ain’t gonna be for a vineyard in Cutchogue where the only celebrity I’m likely to see is someone named Mark Feuerstein for godsakes! I’d rather hang out at the American Hotel on Sunday to listen to Stephen Gaines radio show. Now there is star power!!! Besides if you want to make a series about the Hamptons make set it in a real estate office or a Starbucks! NOW THAT’S THE REAL HAMPTONS!

Where else in the world would you pay over a million dollars to live on a place called Swamp Road!!?

Yes… it is called Swamp Road for a reason!!! Someone told me the water tables are extremly high in the Hamptons right now dues to impendending doom of 2012. Just kidding but the storms last month and the heavy snows this winter HAVE left the Hamptons a little under water. But it’s not just Swamp that’s swamped… for some reason Narrow Lane is DEEP AND NARROW!?!? But in spite of all of this… the real estate market seems to be bouncing back0! As for how deep is Narrow Lane? See the pictures below:
