Does a coat of paint really justify a name change??? The former Sag Harbor Cottages got a slight facelift from the look of things and are now called “FOREVER BUNGALOWS.” Anyway, we hope it’s a huge success but right now I’m a little skeptical. I’ve never been in one but from the look of things it’s certainly a step in the right direction.
Security Concerns for Dummies in Bridgehampton!
We all know that Joe Farrell is making plenty of money these days. But my question is does he really need a full time security guard to stand in his windows!? But wait, that’s no ordinary security guard. The said security guard is always there with his arms crossed and the same lifeless expression on his face. Hmmmm, could it be in fact that this guard is indeed lifeless? I walked up to the window the snap a few pics because I was suspect and low and behold no reaction, no movement. In fact, he should get a job at Madame Toussaud’s. If anyone has the answers, let me know.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t had a chance to stop by Greek Bites in Southampton you should. Friends of mine encouraged me to stop by and get some stuff to go but that’s a little far for me to do a quick drive-by. So instead I decided to stop in and try it out. My review on a scale from 1-5 is a solid 4. The moussaka and fried zucchini that I tried were awesome. The atmostphere was pleasant and certianly a big improvement over Meson Ole! So, in conclusion don’t be afraid to try something new! Greek Bites is located on County Rd. 39, in Southampton. 631-488-4388.

Yeah, I know I keep saying I’ll blog more but somehow I get caught up in the moment trying to put food in the dog bowl and it slips my mind. So what’s been going on???? Well, lots as far as I’m concerned.
The market has been brisk and busy out here. Already, I’ve done more rentals this year than I did a year ago at this time. So I’m genuinely optomistic about things out here. While I haven’t seen prices go up on either sales or rentals, the article the Faux News had about Hamptons foreclosures being rampant, I JUST DON’T SEE IT. That’s my two cents and I’m sticking to it.
Switching gears now as we used to say in the TV biz.. I’m already getting ready for bathing suit weather. I’ve driven by De Jesus Deli in Southampton and resisted the tamales…
I’ve just said NO to The Golden Pear’s “Mac N Cheese” (even though it costs more than a car payment and the calories are the same number as a Chevy’s weight)… it’s probably the best in the Hamptons! Seriously it is THE best but no doubt extremely fattening!
So, I’m watching my waist and one of the things I’m doing to help me in my quest to ditch the Sans-A-Belt pants is running. Where am I running to? I’m running to East Hampton
Village Hall because apparently there are only 700 of the 2900 beach permits still available for non-residents of the village! Yeee Gads! That means they’re about 75% of the way sold out!! I known it’s only early March but if you remember, last year they were gone by early April. If you want information on what you need to do to get the coveted EH Village parking permit, CLICK HERE! Round like a circle in a spiral.. the windmill of Sag Harbor!
After some recent windy weather, the windmill blades have come apart on the Sag Harbor landmark. Just as East Hampton is revealing their new 2.0 windmill on Pantigo Rd.
The Sag village is spending $8700 for the current repairs but that’s not enough to cover the current needs let alone the floors that were damaged in recent flood. According to some the total repairs will over $10,000 to get the landmark into better shape. Meanwhile, the village which is a little strapped for cash is open to fundraising ideas to help save the windmill.
There is talk for a “Save the Windmill” fundraiser modeled after the restoration of the movie theatre neon sign. Like the whale and the movie sign, plenty of local residents feel the windmill is the symbol of Sag Harbor.
