A WHOLE LATTE NEW FOOD IN EAST HAMPTON!

Last week it was San Ambrose…. sorry Sant Ambroeus. Now, just in time for the holiday season, Tutto Il Giorno is finally opening their doors in East Hampton Village tomorrow (11/28/22). The restaurant Tutto Caffe (yes that’s how they’re spelling it) has been under construction for what feels like forever, and they missed the summer rush. But from what we’ve heard, it was worth the wait. They will be serving paninis, espresso, cappucinos, pastries, wines and more. One tid bit we got from our spies is that the croissants are AMAZING and going to give Carissa a run for her money. Although it hasn’t opened yet, a quick peek of the interior appears to be sleek, slylish and casual. So if you’re in the village tomorrow, be sure to check it out. It’s located at 55 Main St down the small path towards the back parking lot. More details should be available tomorrow or you can check their instagram profile @tuttoilgiornocaffe. So mangia to all and to all a good night!

One of the great winter events now in the Hamptons Is the spectacular sunsets on the ocean. If you haven’t gone to the beach yet, bundle up and make the trip. The winter sunsets are a spectacular substitute for now. Sunsets happen on the water and the colors are magnificent. But remember that these sunsets are available for a limited time only, so don’t miss out! The sun usually shifts again mid January and the sunsets are over land once again. So, take a walk on the beach, and enjoy the winter scenery. It’s a great way to relax and recharge before the busy holiday season.

Speakng of limited time only, it’s that time of year again. Hampton Jitney discount ticket packs are on sale now. Once again, save big and know the tickets never expire. If you want more details or to buy packs now online CLICK HERE.

WISHES FOR 2020! PLUS A TASTY PRIX FIXE!

I’m still reeling from the coal in my stocking this holiday season.    I mean I’m not poor, poor, pitiful me but I was hoping for a brand new shiny MacBook so I could bring you  more Hamptons Chatter!    But enough complaining!   Because the optimist that I am, my gaze is now turning toward the new year!    So what will it take to make me truly happy…. other than a good script of Zoloft?   Wait no further, here are my wishes for not only me but everyone in the Hamptons.    Remember, a few years ago I wished for a few  more good Mexican restaurants and now we have two (Coche Comedor and K Pasa).

Domino’s Pizza or Little Caesars – Since Phoenix restaurant in Wainscott closed the home delivery thing in the Hamptons sucks.    I grew up in suburbia and although we didn’t have Ubereats or anything of a sort, we at least had pizza delivery!!    While I know the above pizza companies aren’t exactly gourmet, they deliver!   I’m not picky, I’m just lazy.

More Cell Towers – A few years ago, I wrote a blog about all the dead zones out east (click here)   Well not much has changed in the 6  years since I wrote that piece.    If you don’t believe me how bad it is on the East End, download the Open Signal app.   It will

show you how bad it actually gets.    The one thing that has changed is that more folks are abandoning landlines for cell service only.     Where a few years ago, cell phones were a luxury they are now necessity.    The fact the Hamptons have such limited service is not only dangerous it’s irresponsible.  UPDATE:   It looks as if something is happening soon… for ATT users !!!  CLICK HERE

An Upgraded Movie Theater – I love going to the movies.   The popcorn, the shared experience and the amazing real estate commercial before the film even starts are all part of a great evening.    But lately, I’m having CINEMA ENVY.    Social media posts by all of those snowbirds in Florida flaunting reclining chairs and big glasses of Chardonnay while watching Star Wars have me wanting that experience here.

Cool Temps & Red Hot Deal

I know most folks would pay more just to avoid having the seat where your legs are in your mouth and a spring is puncturing your back.

Well enough wishing and complaining for now anyway.    If you’re looking for something good to do this time of year and I know the options are limited… I’m going to start talking about some of the great prix fixes going on right now.   My first choice right now is Tutto Il Giorno in Southampton and Sag Harbor.   On Thursday and Sunday’s they’re offering a 3 course dinner and two glasses of wine for 2 at $59.00 (not including tip).   Considering that’s the price of a single entree at some places, this is a great deal.   Not only that the food is off the hook but not exactly low calorie.    I will also say, this place has some of the best atmosphere of any eatery on the East End.    Well that’s it for me this time around.. MANGIA!

DKSH & GOOP TOO! THE HARBOR GETS A CELEBRITY INFLUX …. PLUS THE ART OF STAGING!

Tutto Il Giorno – Coming soon to Sag Harbor

While the weather outside is still a loooooong way from summer, things are apparently heating up in Sag Harbor.    The big gossip? That the site of the former restaurant Muse will soon be a new outpost for DKNY and her daughter’s Tutto Il Giorno restaurant.    Apparently the designer with the garlic touch is close to inking a deal to buy the building next to the laundromat and Yummilicious for a little under $6 million bucks.   The space which also has a small retail space to the side will also be the future home of the retail store Urban Zen which according to their own facebook page features, “A philosophy of living inspired by Donna Karan. “I have spent decades dressing people. Now I want to address them.”  I swear it says that!   You can’t make this stuff up!   But what ever you think, the food at Tutto rocks!  Good news for the Harbor.

Switching now to really annoying quotes from rich people.   Everyone’s least favorite celebrity, Goop will be moving into the site currently occupied by Urban Zen on Bay St.   My head already hurts form this news.  I really hope it’s just gossip but I do believe my sources.    Yes, Gwyneth Paltrow the woman who claims she learned about discrimination from donning a fat suit in Shallow Hal is coming to Sag Harbor.    OH! She also said with a straight face “being on set is more difficult than being an ordinary working mom.” Yes, that Oscar winning cultural guru is bringing her absurdly priced retail items to the Hamptons again (Amagansett dodged the bullet ).     Oh joy!    I don’t know what to say.  In one year we lose Conca d’Oro and instead get the woman responsible for these pearls of wisdom.  Insert crying, eye-rolling, sick, laughing emoji here!

Well enough about celebrity real estate and let’s talk about real real estate.  Like what to do to help you get that house sold!  Recently I brought my friend Susan Beard who is a local designer and stager to help me with this listing here.   It was no easy task but she was up to the challenge and helped the owners and me bring this East Hampton home from shab to fab (insert eye roll emoji here).    Seriously though, she did a great job.
